Senator Phil B. Curls Annual Golf Tournament Glen Echo Golf Course
Glen Echo Country Club: Thursday, July 8, 2010 Glen Echo Country Club 3401 Lucas and Hunt Road St. Louis, Missouri 314-383-1500
Glen Echo Golf Course, founded in 1901, is the oldest 18-hole golf course west of the Mississippi. This is a full service St. Louis-area country club featuring a fabulous golf course. Both seasoned experts and beginners alike are challenged by the clever twists and slopes of this classic course. Comprising 138 acres in Normandy, Missouri much of it has been preserved as it was originally built in 1901.
Designed by the famed brothers Robert and Jim Foulis, the Glen Echo Golf Course was the site for the Golf Championship at the 1904 World’s Fair and the Third Olympic Games. The event produced Olympic Gold Medal Champion, George S. Lyon of Toronto, Canada. The Olympic Golf matches brought national attention to the beautiful Glen Echo course and Missouri.
